I am sure you agree that there is software that you run definitely more often than the other. Traditional place to put shortcut icons to such a software is Windows' desktop. However, it has very huge disadvantage - it is covered by the windows of running application. Wouldn't it be more convenient if the shortcut icons be visible all the time - despite of the active windows? Deskbar of Google Desktop is such a place. After having installed my gadget called Shortcuts Panel you will be able to place an icon of any file right in your deskbar.
